The three things that we need the most, in order, seem to be:

1) DB - Safety in particular
2) Offensive Line
3) WR - Only #3 because of Joe Horn

There's really only two options at #8, IMO.

1) Levi Brown, OL
2) LaRon Landry, S

Both are projected #7-10. Landry is usually projected closer to #10 than #7, so the Falcons didn't have to move up to get him. The result, probably Levi Brown. He's the guy I want.

CALVIN JOHNSON IS NOT AN OPTION unless they move up significantly. This would:

a) cost them too much (picks)
b) mortgagetheir future on a guy that Vick might not be able to get the ball towithout protection

Besides, Johnson is the consensus best player in the draft...if you were Tampa Bay or Cleveland, would you let him slip?

The other thing to consider is the fact that we got an early 2nd rounder from Houston too. In that respect, there is a distinct possibility that Dwayne Jarrett (work-ethic) and Ted Ginn Jr. (injury) can fall to the second round. In essence, TWO problems can be addressed doing it this way. Taking a receiver early, if he is NOT named Calvin Johnson, could be a HUGE reach and potential waste of a pick. Levi Brown is the way to go.

Alright. They might try to move up into the #2 spot and take WR Calvin Johnson. that would be cool. He would make Vick look better. None of the WR's he has now can catch all that well. except Joe Horn now. If they don't do that they will take either S LaRon Landry or DE Jamaal Anderson. but they could have gotten Anderson at #10. If they got Johnson they would have Vick at QB, RB Dunn, TE Crumpler, WR joe horn,WR Michael Jenkins, and WR CAlvin Johnson. Backup WR Roddy White. What an offense. And there deffense is good already. just add a S like Aaron Rouse or Eric Weddle in the 2nd round.

With the 8th pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons select LaRon Landry, saftey, Louisiana State University.

Hopefully a Wide Reciever because Michael Vick is going to need someone who can catch his bad passes.

They won't they are going to package the picks they got for Shaub and move up to take Calvin Johnson. Not only will he be able to pull in most of Vicks insane throws, he is big enough that Mike will see him, and he will block when he takes off down field.

DT - Amobi Okoye - Louisville

This guy will make an impact his rookie season and will give the falcons DL some much needed help.

Who cares who the Falcons pick, they still gonna get run over by every team they play this season. You need to get a QB. His own team mates dont like him. AS for Joe horn mentoring someone....pleez Joe is only there for the money, figure it out!
