I have to agree here, however, elephants should not be kept with such agressive fish like the electric eel. If your eel is of any size, he isn't bulling them, he is looking for lunch.

This is a lesson learned. It is rare that you were actually able to aquire an electric eel since these fish are usually only sold to aquariums in the US.

You have a choice. Since you cannot make your fish get along you can return the electric eel or the other fish in lieu of "ruining your aquascape." or find him a different home. Your eel is will more than likely out live the other fish.

Since your eel does not require much air from the water, he will surface to suck air from the atmosphere. If other fish provoke him, or your, he can let out a shock of between 600-750 volts. Yikes. This will kill everything in your tank. I would suggest moving him to his own home.

P.S. Do you wear rubber gloves when cleaning the tank? Just wondering.

This is a very bad combination, because both the elephant fish and the knives rely on weak electrical impulses to hunt and navigate and the eel has receptors that sense them. You are torturing all of them, move the eel! A divider will not help!

Sometimes certain types of fish just don't get along well together. You may have to put it in a different tank, or else return it.

Get rid of one or the other. These fish will never get along. One or the other set will wind up dead. Sorry, man. It happens.

Sounds as though you have to seperate them. Aggressive fish need to remain with other aggressive fish, the passive fish won't make make it with an aggressor in its tank.
