Any problems? I am finding it difficult to find a laptop with XP, even refurbished and have been cautioned against getting Vista for about a year...so I'd like to hear from anyone who is actually using Vista and what you think.

Vista works perfect for me on my hp laptop. Can't wait for the updates to mess it up though.

Well in my opinion Vista is not worth upgrading right now. Especially since you'll either need a laptop specifically made to run Vista or a pretty beefed up XP laptop. Vista really isn't as amazing as it sounds anyway

My laptop runs Vista ok except for the video card. Since my card has so little memory, some apps run veeeerrrrryyyy slow.

If you are buying a laptop, it should be ok. Nothing wrong with Vista if your pc is made for it. I'd been running it since the Release Candidate versions and it's been fine. Has a lot of nice features.

Make sure you get the Home Premium edition. Here's the comparison chart.

Don't believe everything you hear.

Vista is nice, like any new product. I'm using it right now, so it's safe to say it works fine.

Just don't get Vista basic, get Vista Home Premium or Ultimate. As long as your laptop is Vista compatible, meaning, all the hardware is supported by Vista, then you're fine. Hell, half of my hardware isn't supported, so cool stuff like 3D Flip and Windows Aero color schemes are disabled.. and it still works!
