Canadians paying a $4000 penalty if u buy a gas guzzler.. good or bad?

Since Canada wants to go green our Federal Govt. wants to put an additional penalty on the purchase of gas guzzlers for the amount of $4000. If we buy Hybrids we get up to $2000 back. Although the cost of buying a Hybrid is quite expensive. I agree with everyone watching what they do in order to help global warming. Im wondering though, why dont they start with the mills, the big companys that have a lot of money and should be doing something to lessen the pollution they put into the air. What r ur opinions on this???

Actually our govt. is Conservative just for your information. I do agree with this, and obviously would pay the extra money if i were to buy a gas guzzler. Although as i said, the big corporations that run this world (as someone else pointed out here) should also put in their thousands. My opinion of course..

Mary, newsflash hon, America already does that.

Gas guzzler tax for certain cars, tax credits for hybrids.
Although I think they're phasing out the tax credit.
