When Georgy bush was governor of Texas we had the most inmates put to death in a single year.[386 Including one woman that the victims family asked that the sentence be converted to life, she was killed anyway ]My ? is this why dont the states call it what it is.It is MURDER!! Just because it is sactioned by the state isnt any less than what it is, they are taking a life. When it is broadcast over the news it says another inmate lost their life tonight. They didnt lose it It was taken away just like their victims!!! I dont believe that killing someone is the way to go. I will never sit on a jury.!!! Only God has the right to judge. Why not bill the family for the last meal or ever the cost of the drugs to kill them???Have we become so inhumane that we can sleep easy knowing that we as Ameericansd are allowing this to continue..What happened to the American Conscience.???We have already lost the constitution

If they kill someone, give them have life in prison. But be sure. What are the circumstances etc.I dont see how killing someone can bring back my loved one.I agree that child molesters should be jailed for life.No free get out of jail cards. And you dont always know the circumstanstances of the case. But then again why would you care? You seem to have made up your minds .What if it was your family member that was going to die? Would you feel the same. What if they couldnt afford a good laywer? Do you think they work for free,Do you think they care if the person lives or dies? They want the money. Then half the time they still do a lousy job.!!! I would rather have a murderer move in next to me than a child molester...I would then go to jail for murder.By the way check ...out your neighborhood,, see how many C>Molesters live by you without you knowing it.

Texas also executes the mentally retarded.
Funny how a lot of pro-lifers are so pro-execution. "Force 'em to be born and to hell with them when they are." Execution reeks of revenge, not of justice. "Vengeance is mine, I shall repay" sayeth the Lord -- but the conservatives do not hear Him.

Maybe after something horrible hits home you will look at what you've said and realize how wrong you are. Only then will thick headed people like you change. I believe that God also agrees that if you kill you should be killed. Even though they are killed they will have a chance to do it over again, no matter how horrible their atrocities are. It's just sad that many people accused of murder didn't actually do it.
You think it was bad when he was Governor now he's president and he is fulfilling a plan set in motion a long time ago. To enslave us and limit the world population tremendously, so you ain't seen nothing yet. Many, many people will die unless Americans wake up.
I think it's great that Texas put in an express lane for sick scumbags that deserve to die! I'm going to move there.

If you knew thatyou would be killed if you murdered someone, you would be less likely to murder, would you not? If, on the other hand, someone tells you "if you muder someone you will have to live in prison with free meals, TV etc" you would probably be more likely to murder. It's not a matter of judging or not, it's a matter of "you murder, you will be killed". Stiff crime=stiff punishment. When punishment is stiff enough, people do not break the law nearly as much. Why do you think there has been an increase in crime where there's a decrease in punishment? Use a little logic here...

I admit i only glanced at that LLLOOOONNNNGGGG question. Capitol punishment would work if done right. If not to punish at least as a quick way to remove a person with the capacity to murder from ever doing it again. I say if convicted they get one appeal. This appeal is a one year period to prove they didn't commit the crime. After one year the sentence is carried out. No exceptions. Living 10 or 20 years on death row while their victims families die of heart break waiting for justice is wrong.

There's knee-jerk support for it in Texas and other states. Soon, someone will prove that Texas executed an innocent person. In Dallas County alone, several people have recently been released from long-term prison sentences when DNA proved them innocent of the crime for which they were convicted. The Texas system is deeply flawed and a mistake will be made (if it hasn't been already).

Sorry, I don't agree. There are some evil people on the face of this earth, and some of them deserve to pay the ultimate penalty for their acts. GB didn't sentence these people; the courts and the people of Texas did; he just refused to override their decisions.

As Lt. Governor David Dewherst said, "There's tough, and there's Texas tough." However, I agree with you. I'm a Texan, and a member of the Republican Party of Texas, but I oppose the death penalty. I'd prefer life in jail, no parole.

I lived in Houston for nine years. My parents were friends with a couple who lost their five year old daughter in 1978, to a kidnapper/child molester/child murderer. Their daughter was one of three that this monster killed. We threw a party when he was put to death in 1996!

You seem more concerned for the scum than their victims.I sincerely hope you never arrive home to find your family mutilated & murdered by the sub-humans.Don't be fooled because they look like humans, they are actually animals who never evolved to the level of human being.Sleep well.

ummm, excuse me, perhaps you should do somemore research, most of the people put to death performed multiple homicides or other horendous crimes. How would you feel if one of those people got their sentence "converted", got out, then moved in next door?
