I'm going to a fancy dress party tonight as a mermaid (blue and green outfit) and I need some ideas for how to do my eye makeup, I have lots of colours, silver and like every shade of green/blue/turquoise you can imagine! I have quite small eyes so I'm having trouble doing anything that looks good. Any ideas anybody?

I didn't include, but would like to add that false eyelashes, all along the top, or in the Outer corners may brighten up your eyes.

Deffinetly use mascara to finish off the shadow. It'll balance out everything.

I would stay away from the deeper shades...

I would try a pearl shade on the lid to the brow (good brow grooming is key for this look)

line the eye with a pearl-y pale blue thick creamy pencil

line your inner eyelid with white pencil, Rimmel makes a good one...

put just a smattering body glitter on the brow bone and maybe the top of the cheekbone and temple...

use some individual false lashes and some nice black mascara and this should open the eye...

keep the blush down to a rosy tint like benetint

lips should be rosy and possibly matte to get the best effect from the eye makeup...

a bindi could add some fancy to the look as well

some glitter on the neck and shoulders and decolletage would work as well...

Well since your outfit is blue and green you may want to reflect that in the eyes. To get a nice look I would use eye shadows that are shimmery.

You'll need:

light blue
a cream or light gold color (base)
light green.
light purple (if available)
Concealer

Use a concealer to help keep your eyeshadow in one place and to make it last. Apply to whole eyelid.

So the first step is to take a like color and make it the base. Apply to your whole eyelid, from the inside corner of your eye to the outer tip of your brow bone. This way you have a base.

Take the light green and apply it just on the middle of the lower lid.

On the outer corner use the light blue and apply to the lower lid.

Blend the shadows slightly so you don't have a block look and they they flow nicely from one another.

If you'd like to add the purple in the middle its up to you.

Make sure you don't use any black eyeliner as they will make you eye's look smaller.

If you need to line your eye's try a brown liner.

Hope this helps.

Hey there :) I'm an aspiring make-up artist, and I think I can help. If I knew the color of your eyes it would make all the difference!

You want to start by applying a light, shimmery shade to your whole eye, from lid to brow line. (Use your finger! This helps if you're going for that flawless finish.) Next, you want to apply a medium shade all over the lid. For a dramatic but subtle going out look, you can take your most shimmery shade and apply it to the inner corner of your eyes. This will give you that "diva" glam, and make your eyes appear that much more bigger and brighter. After that, take a darker shade of eye shadow and using a shadow brush, apply to the crease of your lids. Go back and forth like windshield wipers for a smooth application.

To make a small eye appear big and beautiful, you DO NOT want to use a lot of dark eyeliner. This will only make your eyes appear much smaller. Try applying a nuetral shade ONLY to the outer upper corner of your eyes. Not only will this give your eyes some depth, but it will also give them that wide-awake effect. Next, take your shadow applicator and go over the eye liner. This will help smooth it out instead of making it appear like chalky lines. No one wants that, right?

Finally, the mascara. If you want you can spice up your look with fake lashes. Don't go over-board when choosing them! Look for the "natural" lash. I don't reccomend the full lash for you since that would over power your eyes. Instead go for something that's light and feathery. Make sure you read the instructions on how to apply!

You're done girlfriend :) You look bold and beautiful! Have fun with it. Experiment with it. There is no right way or wrong way when it comes to applying make-up. Enjoy!

Use a white eyeliner on your top lid (it opens the eye), a lighter color on the inside corner close to your nose, a darker color on the outside half of your lid, line the bottom with a darker color, and then mascara on only the top lashes.

I would use a silver or white or something like that on the inside, and then something deep like the greens on the outside....you can blend with a fingertip so that it looks less dramatic. OH....with the inside, lighter color? Only do from the corner by your nose up about half way, sort of diagonal...and with the deeper color, from your lashes to the bone in your eyelid. I have smaller eyes too...so this is a pretty good routine for me, i hope this makes sense.

i think...
a pearly blue, [top & bottom] make sure it's not matte or too dark. like a pearly shimmer. as for eyeliner, a green one, or turqoise one to the outer corners of your eyes but whatever you do, if you have small eyes [even in general] never put eyeliner in your inside rim, it will make your eyes smaller. then, to make your eyes look bigger, get a slightly darker blue, and apply lightly to the bone of your socket [you know what i mean don't you? in between your eyebrow and eyelid], and then use a silvery white, and very carefully and lightly apply to the inner corners of your eyes, and right under the arch of your eyebrows, this will act as a highlighter and will again, make your eyes bigger! don't forget the blue or black mascara!

sorry for babbling on, good luck & have fun!

ok positioned glitters on your eyes, yet no eye shadow (possibly blue or eco-friendly in case you prefer some thing) pink/pink lips, and the tail is eco-friendly and glittery . it may be extremely no longer hassle-free to stroll around in an extremely long skirt, which you will desire to easily intend to make it like spandex pants with little flair/fins on the backside
