This is such a loaded question and obviously shows the bias of the person who wrote it, and you can nail them for it. I'm sure the answer they are looking for is the last one, "He persecuted people he falsely accused of communist leanings"

However, the second one could be equally as true: "He uncovered scores of communist agents inside the government". What most liberals somehow refuse to admit, but once the Soviet Unions files were opened it was proven, that in fact there were dozens of Communist agents in the U.S. government. If it was me, I'd challenge a teacher who denied this. It can be proven communists did exist in the government, although liberal teachers and textbooks often overlook this fact.

His "list" of communists in the government got continually smaller as he was pressed to provide evidence of their involvement. He operated on fear and hysteria and when questioned he usually went on the offensive.

he was a morphene addict, a bully on the senate floor, a liar and he ruined a lot of innocent peoples carerrs in the military and in civilian govt. jobs, including the shame he brought to his own family, and to the state and country he was supposed to represent, but their are a lot worse people in offife down through the years than him.
