Since you have a white bed you can really choose any wall color. I say do one bold red wall and the rest a soft purple.

If you go to the library you should be able to find some books by Debbie Travis. There will be all sorts of ideas in there. Also if you get the home and garden channel on t.v. they are always doing room makeovers. Brown and pale pink is a popular combination right now and I think it would be pretty with white. Also brown and blue. I like the blue and green look but I can understand you not wanting to copy your friend. Most of all, choose colors that make you happy. If you have someone take you to the hardware store, they have many free paint chips. Go and pick out the ones that appeal to you and take them home and think about it. You can also get inspiration from things. If you see a shirt ,rug , blanket, flower, or pillow that you like, take it to the store with you and pick out paint chips to match. That is what I have done and it really seems to help me. Best of luck.

First, I find that painting opposite walls the same color is nice. For example, you would have 2 walls one color and the other two another color. Do you want something vibrant? Maybe go for magenta against beige. I wouldn't suggest painting all the walls with really bright colors. What I've done in my bedroom is use 2 different shades of brown (light and medium) and then I added color to the room with a blue lamp and blue curtains. The opposite could also work- say magenta/maroon/beige walls and silver/gold colored curtains/lamp.
Have fun!

My room is pink with black strips every foot. But if thats too extreme you could always go for red, white, and blue. Or like you said blue and green just do a different shade of blue and green than your friend.

this might sound girly, but i did green and pink and i alternated walls so one was pink the next green and so on. i would do maybe a blue and then do stripes on one wall with different shades of cool colors like blues, greens and purples!
good luck!!

Here's some ideas...http://www.behr.com/behrx/colorsmart/main.jsp
1. Select the heading browse colors
2. Select whites
3.Select the color white that your bedroom set is
4. Click Select This Color
5. Click coordinate
6. Click Coordinate colors accents*
7. You can select any of those colors/more colors
*Your furnitures are white accents,so these colors will work best! This what I do for my room and it's works excellently.

I have two adjoining dark purple walls and two adjoining light purple walls, and it looks fantastic. It's a bit moody (choose a really dark purple) but also a bit sweet - and purple looks great with white.
