It's definitely number 4.

In number 1, there should have been a colon.
In number 2, you would have to add a dash or a colon and add "it was" to the sentence.
In number 3, commas should replace the semicolons.

Number 2 is correct. Number 4 is incorrect because in the senctence the semicolon should be a period because they are talking about hip-hop not the grunge.

1 should use a colon, which is generally accepted for use preceding a list. many people would accept the use of a semi-colon but it is supposed to be used to separate ideas, not structures.

2 is correct.

3 should use commas instead of semi-colons. items within a list are separated by commas. don't change it and precede your list in this case with a colon either. it's unnecessary.

4 is two sentences and needs a period, not a semi-colon. they are separate statements.

number 2 is not correct. it is a run-on sentence. number 4 is the right answer.
