I think there are issue that we should just resolve and move on so the political parties change. Lets solve the whole gay marriage issue and abortion issue and you'll see very interesting parties been founded.
For instance, i'm a social liberal who is a fiscal conservatice. I vote for democrats or moderate republicans, but if republicans were not agains civil unions I would definetly be a republican.

Certianly not me.
There are so very few actual Republicans anymore, I think we need to protect them.
You know, the "keep the government out of my personal life" folks who *USED* to be Republicans. The "small government" people who USED to be Republicans.
And I'm a hard-core socialist.
I miss real Republicans. I could have some respect for them. Now, these neo-cons, that's another matter entirely.
