Very complex issues. I think until a motive is established there is no direct cricket connection, though obviously we all think there is. A motive will give the link to whoever sanctioned or carried out the murder. It's easy to say 'Bob would have wanted us to play on.' but would he? I remember him as a fine upstanding fellow. It does make one wonder what is behind all this. The obvious conclusion, given all the events in the past, is that the death is linked to Asian gambling syndicates. Is that too simple? How many potential suspects can there be? The local police need to establish the motive and who had the ability to commit the crime. Someone has displayed guilty intent and Hotel staff surely can spot a stranger in the hotel or on CCTV. Someones conduct after the crime must have drawn attention. The opportunity presented itself to a few people and prior planning must have shown up somewhere. Until all these things are established, they should play on and dedicate the final to Bob.

A resounding NO. Previous contributors have already made the point that this would be "giving in to the terrorists". It is also worth considering that the West Indies (not a single nation but a group of small, not very wealthy, states) has invested many millions into the competition and will lose out heavily if the remainder of the festival is abandoned. This would bring increased hardship to an already poor region.

No, I don't.
Bob Woolmer would not have wanted the tournament to be abandoned, and if it was cancelled it means we have given in to these evil people and it sets a precedent for future sporting events.

It should only be abandoned after South Africa have been crowned world champions otherwise a moment of silence will do after all the show must go on-no one is bigger than the game.

No. Once you set the precedent that events can be derailed in this way, you make the risks of a repeat much higher.
Cheers, Steve.
