most of the answers sound reasonable but no one truly knows. some scientists question the accepted age of the universe and therefore all that we think know. the bible says let there be light (sounds like that could be a big bang) and that god created everything at the same time, meaning we once lived w/ dinos. some what off topic, but human history is incomplete as well, there is no record of human existence (intelligence anyway) before the pyramids were built, but we're suppose to believe eyptians alone created them. look up ancient mayans and 2012.

Life is a natural process of of the Universe at large. Organic matter, under the right conditions (liquid water and energy states far from chemical equilibrium), will grope towards complexity and achieve self order out of chaos.
The spark of life that has evolved into Man caught flame at the bottom of an ocean, which may have been on Mars, Venus or the Earth, some 4 billion years ago as soon as the planets formed and liquid water could collect and pool, in the special (and far from chemical equilibrium) sites known as "black smokers" where geothermal energy pours out as the crust pulls apart. It was transferred to Earth by meteorite impact.

It most likely happened the way scientists think it happened, as that is what the evidence indicates. The evidence points to an origin of prokaryotic organisms two or three billion years ago, and multicellular organisms some 650 million years ago.
Whether this process was caused, orchestrated, and/or guided by some external entity--we have no evidence for that. It could have happened that way, and if a person chooses to believe that--that is what faith is all about. Those who think the evidence does not support the scientific model deny a role for faith--they are like the greeks who need to witness a miracle to be convinced, spoken of in the Bible.

Actually, the earth is a TINY ball of matter. You want it from the start? God spoke, and those vibrations (called strings by modern scientists) created an unbalanced singularity from which all matter and energy came. (Let there be Light!) Eventually, things cooled down, creating the laws of Nature, which can be considered God's toolkit. The sun was a second generation star, meaning its components (and those of the earth) have been previously cooked in an earlier supernova. This cooked matter formed into planets, one of which was the earth. Using more of His tools, He created lightning, a reducing atmosphere, various proteins and RNA fragments, which He eventually gathered together in just the right sequence to create proto-life, and then real life.
Evolution is simply one more tool in His toolkit.

After big bang , our planet earth was just like a ice ball. Then after some billion years, our earth ajusted itself to accure some climatic conditions and some reactions were made in atmosphere to have certain amount of nitrogen, oxygen and other gases which were the main cause for the existence of life in our planet earth.
The thing is ,we should thank the ozone layer , without it there is no existence of life since it protect our body from harmful cosmic rays which destroy our dna, cells and tissues in our body.
Heat, Light and Water were the three substance for the life to be created.
In our planet earth, micro organisms were the first to form and naturally from micro organisms ,plants and animals were born, and from the animal [monkey] we[humans] were formed [as all know]. like this way the life had created

Consider the size of the entire universe. Billions of stars and planets and galaxies. There are all sorts of reactions and changes taking place through out the universe. The circumstances that would be required for life to form are very rare.. maybe one in a billion. Well if there are more than a billion planets out there, it is simple statistical data that would tell us that life would almost have to form somewhere even if just through random chance.

Life on earth was created from an random assemblage of random proteins .Given billions of years (think how long that really is) it seems quite feasible.
