Prisons anywhere arent nice, espcially in the US you will have alot of gangs, and you can get killed pretty fast too sometimes.

The keep of the prisons and prisoners is contracted out to for profit companies. The prison industry is a big profit business in the United States.

The prisons in the US are large the prisoners(most of them are gang members) have food, clothing, shelter and bigger cell space than Navy guys have to sleep in on their ships at night.
They have jobs, they make money, they have access to TV, movies, school extension classes,libraries,religious services,lectures, gyms and consummate visitations on weekends. The only things they can't do is walk out, vote or pay taxes.
