How could you determine whether the turbidity in your nutrien broth tube was from a mixture of diffrent microbes or from the growth of only one kind of microbe?

Gram stain or some other appropriate stain if you suspect a specific strain of bacteria. If you see both cocci and rods you know you have 2 or more different types of bacteria.

streak for isolation onto an agar plate, and look at colony morphology. if you see 2 or more different colony types, you have contaminants.
