The short list that kentucky will probably go after includes billy donovan , who they will not be able to talk to until and if florida gets beat. Other top candidates mentioned are tom crean (marquette), Tom Izzo, Rick Barnes, Travis Ford, Mark Few, and Billy Gillespie.

I'm a Kentucky fan and I'm happy to see him go.
Whoever they choose to be a coach, it needs to be someone who has shown good recruiting potential and personability, the qualities which Tubby lacked. It would be hard to find a "coach" as good as Smith was, but a more complete individual, who necessarily wasn't as good a ball-coach, would be better suited.
So that's why I think they should try to sign Larry Brown, who obviously knows how to deal with the media and public, has coached the Pros long enough to recognize which players have potential and a winning quality about them and also knows which players might not necessarily leave college early, and, most importantly knows the x's and o's of the game as well.
