I have to mail 50 cents to get a copy of something. I heard you aren't supposed to send money in the mail. Should I write a check for this small amount or try sending two quarters?

If it was me, I would send the quarters. Tape them between two pieces of heavy paper and mail in an envelope. You can send a check, but I would not do that.

You can write a check for .01. Some checks associated with things like Money Markets have minimums but regular checking accounts don't.

You can write a check for a penny if you want. I once got a tax refund from California for 11 cents.

I would get a money order for the amount - it's not worth the risk of having your bank information stolen if the mail gets lost, and you can track it.

you can send money, but it is not the safest thing to do. I would write a check.

of course you can. a check gives you proof that you paid, and avoids the possibility of whoever gets your payment just slipping it in their pocket...
