How do keep track of inventory that is stored in a warehouse and then shipped to customer, as needed?

we show inventory received and sent to warehouse, but we need to keep track of what is sent out of the warehouse inventory. Since items must show cost, we don't won't to show that these items were sold to the warehouse and then sold to the customer thus paying taxes twice
