Banana / abaca fibers come from the banana variety Musa textils, which is commonly known as abaca. The abaca-banana tree, whose leaves are held on a pseudo trunk with extremely long, fiber-reinforced and interwoven leaf stems. They have a high tensile strength and resist rot. Historically they have been used to make rope.

Its abaca! a variant of banana family.Fibre obtained from the trunk and stem and commonly found in SEA and the Philliphines(1 of the country commodity).This fibres will be weaved and braided to make a rope in various sizes.Mooring rope & tug rope for large commercial ships usually use this type of rope as its low in cost and strong compare to synthetic type.
