Okay, Kanye West. Why don't you get a clue? I'm so sick and tired of hearing people blaming this administration for things that aren't in their control. No one doubts that the problems Katrina left behind weren't enormous, but that doesn't mean it's the President's fault. And last time I checked, New Orleans doesn't have just black people living there. You're just like every other idiot that watched a CNN news clip and all of a sudden you think you're a genius. How it was handled before and afterwards? Let me see if I've got this straight. You think that once a hurricane is for sure going to make landfall, the government should send every single available resource to somehow stop a HURRICANE? Past that, if they don't stop it dead in its tracks, you think the government should order every last available resource to the affected areas like they're some sort of insurance adjusters? Given the vagueness and generality of your question, I'm going to go ahead and assume that you don't know very much about anything so this might come as a shock to you, but the government isn't sitting on some mound of money that it chooses to divvy out when it feels necessary. Did it ever occur to you that maybe the government couldn't do anything about the damage there? The private sector could, and did. How are you helping the industries that could rebuild an area by forcing them to go to one area, when they could be making a living elsewhere? Past that, how does it make sense to retard those industries nationwide just for one area? I know it sounds cruel, and if you think it actually is, then that proves you aren't thinking about this. The private sector will react and people will move resources to areas where they are needed, and that's a promise. Bush ordering resources to the affected areas would've helped the victims marginally and hurt the nation as a whole, so who benefits? But the private sector moves resources to where they're most demanded all the time. When people were trying to protect their homes by boarding up their windows before Katrina made landfall, do you think the Presidential Lumber Co. (George W. Bush, CEO) came running down with free boards? Or was it the private sector sending the boards to put over windows so people had a fighting chance? Clearly it was the latter and if you honestly, deep down believe the former is even remotely possible, I suggest you enroll in remedial classes immediately. The point is that government can't give you anything so point the finger elsewhere when something doesn't go the way you think it should. And quit making such sweeping generalizations that have no merit in the least. What will never cease to amaze me is that with that one idiotic question, I just spent this whole text responding and could go further. It's far easier to be intellectually lazy than it is to actually think about things. Look at the difference between the question and response; I'm sure this person thought they were plenty enlightened after asking this. But look at what it actually takes to think about something even a surface level, through this response. People need to be vigilant in their "thinking" and stop taking news stories from the Communist News Network at face value.

Perhaps you should ask the same question of the mayor (can you believe he was re-elected?) the Governor and every other corrupt politician in Louisiana politics over the last 50 years.
By the way; under Bush the federal government spends more money on poverty, education, and many other social programs than at any other time. George Bush has vetoed only one spending bill during his terms in office and it had nothing to do with race.
He has placed in positions of responsibility more minorities than any other president in history.
Please don't be a blind ideologue and follow whatever you are told by minority leaders with agendas that have nothing to do with helping minorities.

So let me get this straight. The people you saw at the Super Dome waiting to be rescued were the denizens of the housing projects that despoiled New Orleans for years. These people who lived there had never made a right move in their lives, otherwise explain their reservation status. If by caring for black people you mean, did Bush personally go to the projects take away the crack pipes, stop teenage girls from having babies, drive the kids to school everyday and do homework with them at night, make mothers marry the fathers of their children, stop the little boys from committing crimes and joining gangs. Than I would have to say no. Sympathy for those who still allow an event of some 19 months ago dictate the terms of their lives is somewhat misplaced

I can't believe people continue to point fingers at the president for what happened in New Orleans. I seem to recall the slow responses of the Mayor, the Governor, and FEMA as having something to do with how things were handled. Besides, Bush can't control hurricanes. And he can't help the fact that a majority of impoverished people in New Orleans are black. It's ok, I wipe my own tushie also. But that's no reason to blame Bush for everything.

The Katrina card is overplayed already. When are all of these proud black Americans going to stand up for themselves and quit waiting for another government handout. Oh, wait! The government is in the process of tracking down all the illegal overpayments and fraudelent claims by the poor Katrina victims.

Bush cares about 1) Himself, 2) His cronies, those he's politically or economically in bed with.
He does not care for any other person whatsoever -- black, white, purple.

you mean how mayor negan handled katrina?
Don't be a hypocrite! Don't be an idiot! State government is responsible for the individual states safety and evacuation policies.
Federal government can not step over the authorization of the states. Didn't you learn anything in history class? Does the term 'civil war' ring a bell?
The governor of Louisiana DID NOT ALLOW the federal government to send in the national guard for aid until DAYS after they were offered.

Alert! Bush does not care about ANYONE, Black, white or otherwise, unless they are part of his 'inner circle'.
Period.
As far as New Orleans is concerned, let's face it.. NO ONE in authority at the time knew what the hell they were doing. And right now, as I understand it from friends whose parents live there, literally billions of dollars are ready to be dispensed. AS SOON AS THE SO-CALLED 'EXPERTS' AND 'CONSULTANTS CASH THEIR OWN MILLION DOLLAR CHECKS.!
You know how it works.
Hire so-called high powered (mostly white) 'consultants' so they can tell you how to spend YOUR money.
Stupidest system I ever heard of.
