There are these great things called belly Bands, too, which are basically just "hiders" that go over your waste and covers yor unbuttoned pants. I found lots on E-Bay.
I used a rubber band on my jeans (through the loop and over the button) for like 5 months! After that, I just bought the next size up in pants. Then, I bought maternity clothes.
Also, you can buy the "small" size maternity clothes at JC Penney and Motherhood: their clothes fit me much better than others did. I did that until I needed a larger size.

I don't think I wore actual maternity clothes until I was close to 7 months pregnant, I just improvised. I worked as a CNA so those scrubs fit me all the way through my pregnany; you might look a little weird with a scrub top, but the bottoms would be fine and super comfy. elastice pants and pants you can tie under your belly work good too. As for my jeans, I would just unzip them and fold the top over so it was a little tighter and wear a long shirt. you're pants do slide down when you do this though, so not a good option for loose pants. try the rubber band trick, fold it in half and put it through the button hole then hook it over the button, it'll buy you a couple extra inches. if you're married, raid your husband's closet, great place for t-shirts, maybe some pants, and defenitely good jammies. go for longer shirts, or if you're gusty just let your belly hang out. Hoodies are great too, they totally hide your belly and you don't even look pregnant ( i think that's how all the pregnant high schoolers hide it, lol) Also, borrow from some of your, uhm, larger friends if you have any, just don't let them know it's because you need fat clothes. You'll be stuck in between for quite a while, there will come a point where you really need some maternity clothes, but don't go crazy. Just buy one nice/cute outfit and a couple shirts and maybe a couple pairs of pants, the rest of the wardrobe you can just improvise, especially with summer coming up. By the end of your pregnancy, even the maternity clothes won't fit anymore, lol.
congratulations!

I didn't want to wear maternity clothes at first (I was in denial) so this is what I did for as long as I could...
I took a rubber band or elastic hair tie, I would wrap one end around the button on my jeans, put the other end through the loop and then back around to the button. Kind-of like my little home-made extender. Then I would just wear longer shirts to cover my little contraption. It made things much more comfortable, and worked for at least another couple months.
I would also wear things like sundresses, yoga pants, etc. I made it through my first pregnancy with only 2 official maternity outfits....and I gained 55 lbs. Don't ask me what the heck I wore the last 2 months, I have no idea!

There's always sweat pants. Also to make jeans last a bit longer use a hair tie, tied to the button hole and loop it over the button to make them fit a bit longer (you of course need to wear a longer shirt, so that this is covered lol). Try pants with elastic waists. I'm on my 4th pregnancy and I had previously gotten rid of all my maternity clothes, I've lived pretty much of of sweat pants and my husbands shirts. Not a fashion statement, I'll give you that, but SOOOOOO comfy. I'm a stay at home mom so I really didn't need to go out and buy a bunch of office maternity type things, I've gotten by with just a couple of nice maternity shirts and one pair of maternity pants.

I tell you i was at that stage i did everything i went to every store and at one point i was crying in frustration so hang in there a week or two more and the fustration should lesson.

To wear your jeans, use a ponytail holder looped through the button hole and wrapped around the button to keep them up. Wear a longer maternity shirt to hide the button and partially opened fly.
Also try really low-rise pants with a long shirt on top. You should be able to zip them and everything below your bump.
To wear the maternity shorts, get some safety pins and gather the extra fabric in the back to make the waist smaller.

Liz Lange stuff at Target is inexpensive and great thru the whole pregnancy(is formfitting though, but cute).
GAP makes great jeans in regular sizes. They're pricey compared to some other Maternity jeans but they are REAL denim not the thin stuff, wash great, and if you get the demi panel you can wear it your whole pregnancy! I did! They also have some cute work pants with the same waist band. I didnt bother with the full panel because you only wear those the last 2 months or so.
If you dont mind some knit pants try some yoga capris or gouchos at Old Navy.

I did alot of bigger pants that were "low cut" cuz they slip under belly nicely! Also the longer t-shirts are in style and alot can be used for In-between maternity! I must agree though that its hard to find maternity until your quite pregnant! i didnt even get into size small in maternity till i was 7 months! so dont get frustrated! and by all means show off your beautiful belly! it is a miracle!

Check into something called the Bella Band, you wear it like an elastic around your pants, that way you can still wear your "normal" clothes but unbuttoned and unzipped for more belly room. Also you can try looping a rubber band through the buttonhole of your regular jeans and secure it to the button. I have done that before in months 4 and 5, and of course rubber bands are everywhere they are cheaper than the Bella Band but both are good options.
