What I would change is more a precedent than an actual law. The Supreme Court decided at one point that corporations are individuals, and therefore no limit can be placed on their campaign contributions, because that would interfere with the corporation's "right" to freedom of speech. They also decided that money = speech. This has led to a corruption of our political process that will take years to undo, and undermined the confidence of real individuals - individual people - in our system of government. Businesses are not people - they are sytems and organizations created by people. It's akin to listing "fire," which is a reaction between elements and/or chemicals, as an element.
My second choice would be to establish the right of the individual (living, breathing human being) to own his or her own identity, up to and including unique DNA pattern. The Founding Fathers couldn't have foreseen the buying and selling (and stealing) of identities, nor trafficking in our dna.

I would rescind the law that prevents US citizens from obtaining legal machine guns that were manufactured since 1986.
There have been no instances of an legal machine gun killing anyone since licensing began.
Why should the sport be left only to the ultra rich.

Repealing the sixteenth amendment to the Constitution and instituting the Fair Tax. It would spur the greatest economic activity this country has ever seen.

It it's a statute -- eliminate the Military Commissions Act.
If it's a constitutional Amendment -- make all govt laws (state and federal) subject to strict scrutiny.

Eliminate the income tax. - 16th Amendment. The U.S. Constitution has a provision for raising revenue based upon costs imposed on commerce. "Duties, imposts and excises" - Article I, Sec. 8. The founding fathers set up a system to collect revenue based upon commerce, which would grow as the economy grew. Our present system of income taxation provides income based upon the efforts of working Americans, & it provides too many ways to reduce or eliminate taxes, based essentially upon social engineering goals. Income taxation provides a disincentive for increased earnings, burdens the working class based solely upon their earnings and provides reasons for business and wealth to move outside of the U.S. I would want to see a return to a tax system based upon commerce, such as a national sales tax, similar to the FairTax Act (HR 25) that has been put forth in the House for several years now.

I'd get rid of automatic birthright citizenship, as have all of the EU countries and Canada. In this day and age it is far too subject to abuse, given our subsidized education and social programs.
