Hi, I have an M-registered (1995) audi 80 avant. It has a (rather worn) 4-spoke leather-bound airbag steering wheel. I'd like to replace it with a three-spoke leather sports one. I understand that I should disconnect the battery and wait half-an-hour before attempting anything (to avoid airbag detonation), but a few questions remain:
1. How do I ensure indicator cancelling continues to work?
2. Can I prevent airbag light coming on? I've seen Momo wheel bosses for this purpose for other cars, but not for mine.
3. Will it pass its MOT without airbag?
Your thoughts, please!

there are kits for that but don't do it your self if they go off it can injure you or cause a lot of damage to your car.
the kits have a sensor that thinks there is still a airbag so the light stays off and the passenger bag still works

Yes you can, but why would you want to? You might want to check the laws; but I would leave the airbag in unless there's a heath reason that makes it dangerous.

Why would you want to do that. If you are in an accident you are going to be the first one to say hello to the steering wheel. IMO I say leave it as it is. Just my opionion.

yes you can but you will have to have the E.C.U. = engine control unit re-set so that it will not read the air bag sender unit... if this is not done you will have a constant beep and that annoying light flashing on you cluster speedo control unit.

hope this was help full to you.

i done it to my accord and I'm happy.. just installed a momo with electric boost control buttons (NOS)
