You just need a bit more practise and you will be fine. Get someone to take you out over the weekend and start from the test centre keep driving in and out all around the test centre area as many times as you can, by the time monday comes you will know it like the back of you hand!!
Everyone gets nervous, most of the time its just luck on the day, think postive, you are obviously good enough to pass your test or you wouldnt have been put in for it.
Good Luck xxx

It is not the test - If you get that nervous for any reason when driving a car - you should not be on the road!
If you practice enough and become good enough then confidence will come.
If you are failing within 30 seconds then the examiner must be considering you to be too dangerous to continue. Unless they believe that then they should take you through the whole test.
The only way is for you to build your confidence and to keep taking a test that you fail is not just wasting your money but is actually adding to your problem.
Take the time to gain the experience and confidence.

God luck I passed my test on my 5th go, my instructor didnt know what to do with me as I failed on something different each time.In my 1st test my leg shook so much we bunny hopped out of the test centre- awful. But my last examiner was really nice and put me at ease and it seem to make a difference - the others were horrible old men. Just one tip if he gives you an instruction repeat it so you know you understood what he said. i.e turn left at next roundabout.

There are a few things you can do -
- get some Bach Rescue Remedy, a lot of people use this before tests/flying as it calms your nerves. You can buy it at Boots, Holland & Barrett and any pharmacy.
- Psychological counselling/ hypnotherapy
- visit your gp and see what he/she suggests
- Its all about confidence, keeping level headed and remaining calm.....keep telling yourself that this test is an hour (not too sure how long tests are nowadays!) of your life and thats it. it will be over before you know it. Dont put too much pressure on yourself to pass. Concentrate on what your doing, try to imagine its just your normal driving instructor next to you.
Good luck!!

THINK ABOUT THIS::: I WANT TO DRIVE. I WANT MY OWN CAR. sweetie if you want to get out there and drive your self around you will get over the fears or nerviness and relax. it's not that hard, read your book and take your time. i did that too at 17 and my mom said you must don't want a car. i read the whole book in one night took the test the next day and pass with flying colors. now that works. don't think about failing think about where you are going to go first when you get your permit ;-) good luck

Change your focus and change your thinking, Focus on what you are doing and not on what you think your test instructor is thinking or writing.
Get lots of practice before hand and talk yourself through your own thinking, actions and performance. Grade yourself but make sure that you are forgiving of silly errors, Notice them and learn from them by all means but don't tear yourself apart.
Look upon your test as an opportunity to shine, see yourself as the instructor and concentrate on impressing yourself before thinking about anybody else.
Good luck.

Hi
Easy!!
Have someone you know take you out on mock up driving tests. You've failed a number of times now so you know whats involved and you can brief them.
Do it regularly and you'll sail through the actual test.
As for the "have a couple of lagers" posting, get a grip, mate. If you want to drink and drive then you deserve everything you get, but as for advising a learner driver to do it, and before their test no less, well, what can I say, you need to sort yourself out mate.
Good luck, princess, you'll get there.
Cheers
Geordie

hi i had the same problem, poor you. basically you have to just persevere and persevere. nerves dont help, i failed twice for stalling and then not smoothly staring up again.... i hate being watched too, i swear i could drive fine alone!
there arent any tips to give, only luck im afraid, as anything can happen on the day. if you havent passed you are judged unsafe, so just accept it and when you do pass, you will be safer and have had more practice.
good luck for monday!
oh, hang on, my mum has a tip for you - close your eyes when big lorries go past as they are scary
(my god that woman drove me around as a child!!!!!!) LOL

This is a panic disorder. Talk to your doctor about it.
There are some other ways you might overcome it, but apparently you need a confidence boost. get your friends to line up some of THEIR friends to take you on mock tests....someone you don't know, better yet... someone you don't LIKE.
practice practice practice til you know that test better than the tester.
