Im only 16 lol, he starting to get on my nerves and is pushing my patience too much. He thinks he knows everything and gets people to laugh with him when he says something clever or witty!!!

That's the point...he THINKS he knows everything! Search for something that you know he knows NOTHING about. There has to be SOMETHING...then embarass the s*** out of him in front of his buddies!

Find his weakness. Most smart people don't know much about sports. Start learning about Basketball teams and then ask him questions about the Sparks, Bulls, Monarchs. Whatever your favorite team is. Ask him about Football teams (College and Pro) and see if he knows anything about that. Trust me there are people that want to seem smarter than you, but they never know everything! Find something he never talks about and talk about that. Just casually bring it up in a sentence. Don't be like oh you don't know do you, because he may just know. Give him a chance to give an answer and then be like well that's really off the answer it's not even close to the right one. I'm guessing that you can tell by now that I have had to do this before! Well good luck with your "friend." I really don't think that he is being a good friend though. Try making new ones.

Believe me, they may not be laughing with him but at him. People who act like they know everything can only amuse for so long without everyone else catching. Eventually, your friend will be on everyone's nerves. I hate it when I am trying to communicate on a subject and a know it all friend always seems to have all the answers and thinks she/he is right. Don't retaliate, just give it some time and ignore that person as much as you can. After a while, that person will realize you are not interested in what he/she has to say.

Ask him a dumb/smart *** question you know he can not answer like "if you pull your pants down and light up your fart, do you think it will torch the hair around your anus? If so, will it take all of it or just the tip?" then make it more complicated by adding "your farts direction is away from your butt, then why would it burn the hair?"
BTW - I am not suggesting this for fun. You see I also think I am an intelligent person and people such as your friend annoy me so I do these things.

Yeah, I know a person who does that. When he's at school he always repeat the words of the teacher just after she has said them. And when the teacher ask us something he always say "Oh, yeah, I was right to say it!" It's very annoying.
Well you can't embarrass him, he will do it himself... =)
Try to behave the same way (only when your alone) to see what will happenen... who knows?...
Or just tell him about his problem although I don't think he will stop doing that... just leave him and laugh to him with everybody else... that's what I do...

Find a really big and little used word in the dictionary then ask him a question with this word in. Get ready to see him squirm and stutter! Then you can laugh at him!

There's no need for you to put yourself down to his level. He is obviously very childish & lacks confidence in his own worth, thus needing to show off to make himself stand out. He can't fool people all the time forever. He will be caught out soon enough. Ignore his silly behaviour.

Go on the internet and find a very low profile topic, find out as much as you can (make sure it's sorta important!) and then see if he knows without making yourself look dumb. If he does know go away and find another topic, but keep trying!!
