Pencils are the best. I've found that the other type doesn't go on as smooth. If the pencil isn't going on the way it should when its brand new try taking a lighter or some sort of heat and just barely warming it up enough to soften the liner and burn off any oils that are keeping it from going on smooth. But remember to let it cool before you touch it to your skin. Hope this helps :-)

Personally I use liquid eyeliner both on the eyelid and inside the lower rim, but you need to be VERY careful when you do it. It will last longer, and the effect is more for evenings out than daytime. Alternatively you can use black eyeshadow, it will last longer than eyeliner pencils which always smudge.

I say pencil eyeliner. Its a classic and never really had a problem with it. And liquid eyeliner for the top. Draws more attention to ur eyes.

Pencil. What also works is if you have black/dark eyeshadow. Use the the pointy tip of the brush that comes with it to line. It goes on for a softer look a more not so obvious look.

I like the softer ones better. I found that the pencils I tried didn't work well, and just tugged on my skin too much. And it doesn't go into my eyes, and I've never had an infection from it, as long as you remove all your makeup every night.

I have always found the best thing to use is a kohl eyeliner pencil. (That is the type not the make) I couldnt leave the house without it.

the felt tip type don't run so they are the best type been using them for years, I find the pencils tend to run and you end up looking like a panda. Good luck

i find using a pencil liner easier, because they don't require any drying time, and the inner rim is easy to smudge and run into your eyes (ouch) if the liner doesn't dry quick

the pencil one is much better, i have used the felt tip ones b4 and they are harder to use and can get in your eye which really hurts.
