I hate being one of those women on here, but I have to ask.
I just finished my third month of being on the pill. I know that periods can take a while to sort themselves out when you first start the pill. But I'm four days into my "no pill" week, and I haven't started my period yet. The first two months I was on the pill, it started later and was shorter, but I still had it.
I haven't missed a single pill, and I've been on time all but twice, and I took the pill the moment I remember (6 a.m. both times the next morning). Yes, I've had intercourse.
I had cramping four nights ago, and then I've had nothing since.
Should I be worried? Does this fall under the realm of "normal" for a newer pill user?
I'd really rather not do a pregnancy test until I show more signs of a reason to think I'm pregnant.
I think that's all of the details. No lectures about "unprotected sex." I've been with my boyfriend for four years, and I'm 28.

totally normal, I know that when I was on the pill there would be months that I wouldn't be exact on time even 2 years into the pill. And especially only 3 months into it your body is still adjusting etc... if you still spot problems like missing periods or breakthrough bleeding then call your OBGYN and see if they want to up or lower your dose. No frets, sounds normal! good luck

I've been on the pill for over a year, and I never know when my body is going to throw me a curve ball. Example. I just had my normal period two weeks ago. Started a new pack of pills last week. Missed ONE, and lo and behold, I'm on my period again. It's lasted five days this time. VERY unusual, but the pill does that, whether you just started taking them, or have been for years. I think you're fine. If your period doesn't start in the next couple days, take a PT.

If you're cramping, then you're probably just late. If you haven't started by the time you're supposed to start you rnew pack, take a pregnancy test.
Take the test BEFORE you take your first pill on your next pack.
Odds are you're probably NOT pregnant, but it is a possibility.
I know you know this already, but for birth control pills to be worth too much, you HAVE to take them at the same time every single day. I can't stress that enough.
In the end, it may just be that the horomone combo in the type of birth control you're on is wrong for your body chemistry. Each one has a slightly different make-up, including different doses estrogen & progestron. I had one type that totally stopped my period for 6 months and it wasn't SUPPOSED to!
Personally, I'm a fan of Depo. 1 shot every 12 weeks and I never have to worry about missing a pill. :-)

Some people get really light periods, to the point where they sometimes don't even happen. I know I missed one or two while on the pill. Personally, I'd wait until the second month before taking a test. Remember, stress messes up your cycle too!

Not knowing what type of Pills you are on, I'd say give it until the end of the week. Since you've already experienced cramping, it's a sign your period will be coming.

when i was on the pill my period sometimes came late inthe week of no pills.
the cramping you felt was prob. you ovulating, a lot of women can feel this. if you haven't gotten your period by the end of the no pill week, take the test.

You are ok. I don't get mine untill 4 or 5 days after I start the placebos.
I would contact your doctor if you don't get it at all by the end of the 'week'.
Good Luck!

Calendar Method
A couple came back to their OB Gyn looking baffled.
Man: Doctor, we tried the calendar but my girlfriend still got pregnant!
Doctor: how did you do it?
Man: well, naturally we used the calendar as bed sheets on the floor.
