I have some very immature 'friends' that use this site for heir own amusement, rather than appreciating that for some people it is a place where they can get much needed advice that can be very useful in there lifes. How do I stop them without them making fun of me?

well you could report it to yahoo...
choose flag button for what your friend's post that u thing abusing...no one will know your id.
if yahoo think that he's doing that to much, he will get banned from yahoo...

Your friends are just dorks that are really really immature. I believe that this site is not for ammusement. I actually research answers and then tell the person that yes I know exactly what they are talking about or no I do not. Your friends are (I dont know the age group) just immature and probably don't know how to use a computer the right and responsible way. Some of the people on here actually like answering questions (like me) and don't ask a lot of questions. I really like anwering friend questions because I have been through it all with them. I wish you the best of luck! Oh and try to delete their account. You can do it without them knowing it was you.

Tell them you maybe you should friggen stop, you just laugh off yahoo answers and say its stupid, get them hooked on another site.

If your friends wants to be immature let them, just ignore them. you don't have to agree what they are doing just don't get messed up with them. good luck.

Lots of people use this for their own amusement and think that this won't help them.
Their just wasting their time.. Who knows, they just might miss something important :)

Just ignore it. MANY PEOPLE use this for amusement and put radically obscene or partially retarded answers up. Noone really cares, you just ignore them.

REPORT THEM TO YAHOO. THEY WILL NOT KNOW IT IS YOU. IF YOU THINK THEY WILL MAKE FUN OF YOU THEN YOU DON'T NEED THEM AS FRIENDS. GOOD LUCK.
