Gets you someone to take care of you intimately, after your mother.
And on that day you swear before agni that you will live with her both during difficulties and happiness.
It gives you your progeny.

Vivah or Marriage is sharing your life with a new person in yur life. This person will be your better-half and with whom you will be sharing every moment of life which is quite adventurous. And all human being loves adventure, isn't it?

Hindu marriages are performed between their souls (not bodies) in heaven (not upon earth) in presence of 330 million gods and goddesses. Indian Government enacted Hindu Marriage Act in 1955 as legislated by multi religious Members of Parliament and created a chance for divorce to be granted by secular courts. Despite such legislations and courts' divorce judgements/decrees, their spiritual wedlock remains intact being eternal, everlasting and unbreakable even in future rebirths. Despite marriage with others after divorce, wife continues Ardhangini (half body) of her former husband and he continues her Pati Parmeshwar (Lord). There is no concept of divorce in Hinduism.

firstly i liked it bcoz its a love story which had taken plzace with the permission of their parents.i also liked it bcoz boy doesn't just liked a girls physical beauty but also its heart beauty which is very important in any relationship.
