Sure. I'd apply for citizenship too. We would all survive on profits from exports of maple syrup and Ben +Jerrys ice cream.

No. They voted against it.

They only had the option on the specific anniversary, and the vote was to remain in the union.

Besides, following the US Civil War, the courts ruled that states do not have the right to succeed, even if it's in their state constiutions, and even if the federal govt had agreed to that as a condition of them becoming a state in the first place.

no, there is no way this will happen. it is not intelligent for vermont, when push comes to shove, the citizens are not really going to want to leave anyways--much like the quebec debate...when they first voted it was overwhelmingly no on seceding....no way will this happen
