being branded has no official meaning in the military. One was often "branded" a traitor or a coward in the military.

A court martial is an official military court proceding in which charges against military personnel are brought.

Branded usually refers to some informal punishment.

court martial is whn you get a trial and thrown out of the military and branded is when they brand you like cattle i guess
