Yes and some kind of footwear too to stop veruccas spreading. UK public swimming pools are a real biohazard.

Swimming caps...stop you from drowning?
I know we always had to wear one if we had long hair, but apart from that.......
People should be showering before entering the pool, what happens if you have a really hairy man is he to wear a body suit

why would it need to be compulsory? I know you have to wear a swimming cap in swimming competitions.
Maybe add more details why it is compulsory in other European countries.

There's more important things that should be looked at before laws are passed on swimming caps! For starters the anti smoking laws need to be rigidly enforced and upheld, and smoking in any public place, within 3m of a pet or a child, or in the same room as a child or pet need to be brought in before we worry about a few hairs in the plughole!

I dont think I would go swimming ever again, I have very curly hair and they used to ping off when we wore them for school swimming lessons.
