I am 36 weeks pregnant and having terrible back pain from sitting at work. I was thinking about trying a heat wrap, just wanted to make sure they are safe.

Yeah, it shoudl be safe. You'll just want to make sure that you don't raise your temperature too much (it wont' hurt the baby, but may cause you to become dizzy and unstable). But...I highly doubt that a heat wrap for your back will raise your temp by a lot.

Yes yes and yes they are safe. They are actually recommened for back pain because otc pain killers arent usually safe. Warm face cloths, and the heat wrap ( cant remember the brand name) are good for back pain. Just remember to do the 15 mins on and 15 mins off.

I'm not sure, check with your doctor first! I know that your not supposed to use very hot water when showering and bathing . And your not supposed to get in a hot tub, or lay out in the sun. But , i have never thought about a heat wrap before.

a heating pad on your back is ok but not a wrap because it will raise your core tempature and that is harmful to your baby its like getting a high fever you want to keep your core tempature normal but a pad on the back for small amounts ot time would be ok if you can just get someone to rub your back, back pain at your stage of pregnancy is almost unavoidable. but be careful sometimes labour starts with back pain good luck to you and your baby.

They are fine. Keep them off of your belly though. Its about all my physical therapist can do for my back pain (non pregnancy related) because I'm pregnant. Best of luck.

I wouldn't risk it. You don't want to raise your body temp to a degree that will be inhospitable to the baby. Are you sure this is work-related pain? Mention it to your dr and make sure its not back-labor
