I agree by far the Patriots had a better offseason. The only thing they really need to do now is to find a new power back to replace Corey Dillon so they can have the two back system which will help Maroney. The Patriots have made a number of moves to help them out and considering they were alredy in the AFC championship last year with the chance to win, they look like the favorites to me. The Broncos made a number of moves but also lost a number of players and to me they did not make as much progress as the Patriots.. Just look at the list of moves above and it is clear cut the Patriots improved far more.

Would agree that the Pats got the big dog in Thomas but overall I think the Broncos upgraded their team as a whole a lot more than the Pats did. Henry a big upgrade over Tatum Bell, Bly will allow them to play much more 1-on-1 coverage and apply more pressure, Plummer was not the starting QB so losing him only gained them about $5 mil in cap room, same goes for Courtney Brown whose been hurt more than played the past 2 years, Graham at TE gives them some flexibility on O in running 2 TE sets, Stokley (if healthy) is a good #3 WR, Morgan was already there last year and they have now signed a backup at QB. Even arguing all the details there is no doubt that the Pats and the Broncos both have been the class of the off season so far.

I agree that the Patriots have signed a lot of great players but the lose of corey dillion could hurt them a lot. I don't Maroney is ready to be an every down back and morris isn't a great spell running back.
For the Broncos I think they are worse off than they were at the beginning of the season last year. Plummer regressed and had a bad year and Cutler is not experienced enough to go further than the 1st round of the playoffs. I think Travis Henry is a downgrade from Tatum Bell. Tatum has break away speed (yes he does fumble) and they already have mike bell who runs like the BUS. Dry Bly just replaces the late Darrent Williams who was going to progress into a top cornerback. Dry Bly will only slow down Foxworth's progression (although they are trying him our at SS) And the death of Damien Nash also hurts as Johnson is an aging full back. Getting rid of Foster also hurts a lot because now they have little depth on their OL. Graham is overrated (I know Im a Pats fan) and will only slow the progression of that rookie TE (sorry I cant remember his name). If they trade Al Wilson they defiantly had a bad off season.
I say that in the end it will be the Raiders. Griffith, Rhodes, and Newberry should help their running game and I think they will pick up Caulpepper or Carr and draft Calvin Johnson. Imagine Moss, Johnson, and Porter as your top 3 receivers. And LaMont, Rhodes, and Griffith as your top 3 running backs.

actually, Denver does have a back up, as they signed Patrick Ramsay, who has plenty of experience as a starter. I never thought he was any good, but I dont like Denver anyway.
I agree on Bly - way over rated, and would be surprised if he was traded to Washington on draft day.
Thomas benefitted from playing under Ray Lewis' shadow. Let's see what he can do on his own now, should be interesting, as he has a lot of talent.
Pats -
Graham for K. Brady --> Pats got older and downgrade
Dillon for S. Morris --> Pats got downgraded again. Morris is also one more failed drug test away from a year ban.
adding Welker, Stallworth and Washington
Welker - wow, loved him with Miami
Stallworth - gives Brady a deep threat he has never had, but he is not called Donte Stillhurt for no reason
Washington - never lived up to his potential in Cincy, but was also buried on a deep WR team. Also injured quite a bit. Can he stay healthy?
Pats still got a lot better than Denver did. The only Denver acquisition I was impressed with was Travis Henry. He will benefit greatly behind that offensive line.

I would have to say Denver because for courtney brown they signed a DE from Miami and stallworth is great but stokley is probably better fitting in for what denver needed because NE has the two rookies last year who are both fast and denver needed that smaller guy to go acrossed the middle and eventually replace Rod Smith when he retires. Cutler is their starting QB not Plummer and they never should of let Jeb Putzier go but Graham is a good blocker and he has alot of speed. We will see because the off season isn't over yet and Travis henry will have a great year because Mike Shanahan knows how to produce Running Backs.

New England in a landslide. They finally have some impact receivers for Brady to throw to (Stallworth, Washington) they've finally replaced Willie McGinest (Thomas, who is a younger faster version of him), they kept Asante Samuel off the market for this year and they did not overpay to keep Daniel Graham. They also brought in Kyle Brady as a blocking TE and most of all, they have two picks in the first round, and without any overbearing need, they can simply select the two best players on the board at that time. I see another Super Bowl run for New England.

I totally agree with you. The Pats had the best offseason. They picked up people who can actully do something and are known for it. Who knows who Stokley, Bly, and Morgan are?? The Pats picked up a great FB in Morris, A big TE in Brady, a GREAT LB in Thomas and 3 outstanding recivers. Stallworth, Welker, and Washington. Oh yeah lets not forget Miamis CB Eddie Jackson.

I agree, the pats signed THomas, who adds a very fast and versital linebacker to the pats, who before, were filled with a bunch of slow guys. THey were still good, but slow. They strenthened their reciving core by a lot, giving brady some good options, as long as he creates chemestry with them. The loss of Daniel Graham (team captan) really hurts, but we still have ben watson, a decent TE. Wes Welker and Troy Brown will both probobly kick return, and will make our speacial teams a dangerous weapon. Finally, Sammy Morris isn't a corey dillion, but still has talent, and out running game isn't effected that much, since we have lawrence Maroney.
