D-Girl is actually an entertainment industry jargon for a development girl. Which is actually a kind of degrading term because it is referring to her as a subordinate position in the production. So in the episode of the Sopranos, Alicia Witt played Amy Safir a character that was the VP of new productions and Chris was dissing her by calling her a D-Girl.
