Are you kidding me??!!! Of course it is!!! I have been dancing since I was four, and it is definitely athletic and requires training, and (in my opinion) way harder than a lot of "sports." Some people (even dancers) argue that dance is an athletic performing art. Still... it's a sport!!! And a very beautiful, non-violent one at that!!

Dancing is a lot more than a sport. I mean, it requires just as much fitness as a sport, but on top of that it requires some artistic expression. So if you wish - it is a sport-Plus, not just a sport.

Now that I switched from swimming and gymnastics to dancing I'm fitter than ever in my life. Still, I don't call dancing a sport simply because it is a lot more than that.

Well, dancing is not a sport but when Gene Kelly's little, he hates dancing and likes baseball instead. After some years, he cosidered that dancing is a kind of sport. When he's in high school, he began to find his passion for dancing since he has been popular with the girls.

I'm sure one day you would like dancing too, whatever what kind of dance it is.

Dancing is artistic expression. It is no more a sport than playing poker, being a chef, smoking cigars, becoming a model, or any of the many other absurdities that our culture celebrates as a sport or competition.

We dancers compete, injure ourselves, and our movements are part of many "sports." A friend of mine wrote a paper about how dance compares to basketball and how it should be a sport (she was 17 when she wrote it) and she got an A. Of course dance is a sport!

Dance is the two a pastime and an artwork type. As a pastime, we get to compete against others (as do all different activities). yet as an artwork type, we convey ourselves and the music applying physique language.
