You be your self and friends will fine you. Friendships is not like going to the store and picking them out. friends come to you they find you. But if you have a bad feeling about that person then you shouldn't be friends with them.

personally i think you should firstly assure youself that the person is trustworthy. you can then get to know if your share the same taste and likes.. usually someone befriends someone else automatically, that is it just happens but you just have to be patient and wait a little...as the saying goes
