Recently, I posted the above question. Not getting the results I wanted, I decide to redo the explaination of what I'm looking for.

I just bought the complete series of Christy on DVD. Watching it made me remember why I loved it when it aired on TV in the 90's. I think the characters are a joy to watch, and I think the actors did a great job with their roles. I also love the Christian values that are presented in the series, and the over-all good wholesome material that's shown.
I was wondering what some other movies/television series there are out there, that are similar in nature (that nature being a good wholesome family movie/television series); Christian values are a plus, but not absolutely necessary. Below, I've listed some examples of the type of movie/series that I'm looking for. Thank you.

EXAMPLES
1: The Waltons.
2: Wind at my Back
3. Little Men (series)
A. Christian over-tones
B. Characters that are a joy to watch
C. Good stories/themes
D. Family friendly

A good movie with the actress from "Christy" is called "Hidden in Silence" it's about a 16 year old polish girl (kellie Martin) who hides 13 jews sucessfully through the whole war, at GREAT risk to herself. IT's a good family movie, depending on how young your kids are. It has a COUPLE scenes of someone getting shot, but not in a gory way. It doesn't focus on death or the horrors of concentration camps like some WWII movies do. It is based on a true story, with very little "hollywood doctoring"and has Christian overtones. She prays and God works miracles, saving all of their lives.

Also the "Sarah Plain and Tall" set is VERY Good for families. The series consists of three movies
Sarah Plain and Tall, Skylark, and Winter's End. These are easy to find at almost Any Hallmark store (they're part of the "Hallmark Hall of Fame" series of movies) Definitely family friendly with characters that are a joy to watch.

So are "Anne of Green Gables, Anne of Avonlea, and Anne of Green Gables: The continuing Story. Also Family friendly with characters that are a joy to watch.

Most anything that these three companies put out will be good family-viewing:
Hallmark Hall of Fame
Wonderworks
Feature Films for Families.

Oh, another story of compassion and courage (again about saving Jews) is called "Miracle at Moreaux." Definite Christian overtones, designed for even fairly young children, to teach children tolerance and compassion on others. Highly reccomend (think it's a wonderworks.). If I think of anymore, I'll let you know. I'm a Christian and very much into the kind of movies you are looking for. Again, do some internet searching for those three companies. You won't be dissapointed.

McGee and Me was a Christian TV series that ran from 1986-1992 and it presents good christian values. I think you and your family would enjoy it. I enjoyed what episodes I've seen. You can check more details at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090594/ and check your local chrisitian bookstore to see if they have them.
