I think Hilary Swank has a great androgynous look and that look, with her strength as an actress really comes out in some of her more 'manly' roles. Making her girly just doesn't seem to work. Sometimes actresses and actors don't want to believe that their roles are constrained by their looks, but it's just reality. We cannot accept them in roles that are too far removed from the way they look, unless of course they do a big make up job like Nicole Kidman in "The Hours".
