well, the best two games in my opinion are guild wars and World of warcraft, you have to buy a CD to play either of them, and with world of warcraft you then have to pay an extra £9 per month however once you have bought the disk for guild wars, it costs around £20, you never have to pay any more money. Both of the above games have amazing graphics(around 10x the quality of runescape) and are great fun as you can interact with real people alot, do missions (or instances, in world of warcraft) and get your levels up. Watch out though: Both are very Addictive!

There is one called Rakion, it is an awesome online fighter. www.rakion.com and it will transfer you to the main site.
Another one is www.knightsonlineworld.com. Probably one of the best MMorpgs out there. It combines the graphics of some like FFXII and the roleplay and puzzles of zelda and runescape. The best thing is, when you sign up at the beggining, you get 3 days of free bronze membership which allows you to use some of the better weaponry.

Welllll World of Warcraft pwns, but if your looking for a free MMORPG then go for Silkroad Online. Also try the game list on mmorpg.com

I love playing Conquer Online. In fact, my archer and taoist are training in the training grounds right now! lol
You can level pretty fast with teaming. You can pk (player kill) in the game, as well. Though, I don't do that unless someone attacks me first. You can mine for ores to sell or to get a house. They have a guild system, with a Guild War every weekend. It's really fun!
Oh, and it's free to play.

World of Warcraft is easily to most popular but everquest or guild wars are also good games.
P.S. Guild Wars is the only one that doesn't have a monthly fee.

lol mmorpg's are not good.they r only good at being addictive and slowly sucking the life out of you!!
why not try Ragnarok online or Everquest or WoW.they are really "good" at screwing up ur life.
i was a member of WOW .till my friend tried to kill himself because he didnt have money for the subscription.(not a joke not a lie it really happened) that crazyass incident jolted me out of the mmo addiction.

7 million people love World of Warcraft.
Eve online was fun, if a bit buggy, but it's SCiFi not Fantasy.
