some people believe they are because they are supposed to "tell you the future" and in christinainity this is a sin because no one is supposed to know the future only God ... also there is a belief in christinaity that says
everything is either Good or Evil no in betweens ... which means that horoscopes are not God made so they must be Evil ...
Frankly I think that horoscopes are for Entertainment purposes only! I read them every now and they just for kicks but I dont expect my life to be told to me by soemthing so generic that basis your future on what day you were born...
Psychic are a different story they may be more accurate but are still seen as "evil"

There are many who will say that and use scripture reference to back it up. Unfortunately I can't remember the exact location of it, but there is something from the Bible that is often quoted.

However, what I can tell you is this. People are really like their signs. It's been scientifically tested. Horoscopes, if they are done correctly, are studies of the planets and how they affect you according to when and where you were born. So it is pretty scientific too, albeit still a theory and subjective as well.

So, really, whether a horoscope is evil or not is a decision you have to make of who you believe. I personally don't believe it's evil. I also don't use horoscopes to guide my daily life--for me it is a topic of interest and I am more of a scholar of the signs and how they interact. Some of the planetary events interest me but I don't have enough knowledge in that area yet. I am also a spiritual person and I believe in God and His great love for us. The information the stars can offer us can be seen as tools for us to interpret, just like the Bible and other religious writings. But not everyone sees it that way.

My suggestion to you is to find out what astrology is all about and examine your own religious beliefs so you can make a sound judgment on this that is true for you.

I am sure this is what a "conservative christian" would say...

Although the Bible does go into great detail about astrology, it certainly makes its position clear. We should never trust in astrological beliefs or predictions. Astrology is an ancient, heathen practice that leads to disaster. Our lives are not determined by the stars or movement of planets. The Bible warns against the false predictions of astrology (Jeremiah 10:2; 27:9-10; Daniel 2:1-4; 4:7; 5:7-9) and repeatedly condemns the associated practice of worshipping the sun, moon and stars (or “deities or demons associated with them”) (Deuteronomy 4:19; 17:2-5; 2 Kings 21:3, 5; Zephaniah 1:5; Job 31:26-28; Jeremiah 8:1-2).

In Isaiah, God sarcastically rebukes Israel for practicing astrology,

…For you have trusted in your wickedness… Therefore evil shall come upon you… trouble shall fall upon you… Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, And the monthly prognosticators stand up and save you from what shall come upon you. Behold, they shall be as stubble, The fire shall burn them; They shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame…
-Isaiah 47:10-14a

But as you notice - neither of these lines say - don't go to a fortune teller... it just basically seems to say that "according to the bible" that humans can't see the path through the sun, stars, or cards.. and that using these methods take one from the path of God. . . Because as a Christian - you are supposed to be asking God for help - through prayer...

I am not Christian - but I have read the bible and this is what I get. Then again... I am a tarot reader by trade...

I'm a Christian, and I don't think they're evil. I think they are entertaining. I don't believe they tell the future. If they are accurate, it's by chance. If you read them carefully, I mean each sign in the same paper or for the same day or whatever, you'll notice that most of them are so vague, any one of them could apply to your life. In that way, they are accurate. They can apply to anyone. For instance, "If you are in a relationship, you face a tough decision". We all face tough decisions in our relationships. Or "A career decision awaits". Well, that can hold true for anyone. The reason I don't "believe" them or "follow" them is more because of logic rather than a faith-based belief. I think the only thing really wrong with them is that they are sometimes taken too seriously. I guess, though, a religious belief of mine would have to be that we are supposed to leave our lives in the hands of God and not try to change our future because everything is His decision. But no, I don't think they are the work of the devil or anything.

I guess so, if you go by the bible...

I don't really believe in horoscopes, I think they are more for entertainment purposes, as for astrology itself... well that is a different story.

Whether they realized it or not, the people who wrote the bible, were also governed by the stars. Their basic attributes and characteristics were determined by the influence of the universe around them.

I'm sure as we get smarter and our technology advances, someday in the future, everything will be explainable with science, and people will truly understand just how much the stars influence us. You have to think of everything on a molecular level, and realize that everything operates that way.

It's gonna be one hell of a paradigm shift.

To answer your question, i'm pretty sure most christians would consider horoscopes, and astrology itself against the bible.

In my view, horoscopes go back to the days when people ran their lives according to the stars, and how they are lined up , and all that utter nonsense. Some people today won't do certain things they were planning, if their horoscope for the day looks unfavorable for that. Man is born with an innate need to worship something, or someone, and if they choose not to believe that their life is in God's hands, then something, or someone else is selected to fill that need to worship or put your trust(faith) in. If you are one that checks out your horoscope each day before you do a tap, you are in bondage to that, and not free to enjoy the world God created, and put your faith in Him, and let Him be the One you go to each morning instead of those evil rantings about the stars. Someone sits somewhere each day and concocts that stuff, and once in a blue moon they get something fairly accurate, but that's merely the law of averages, not something mystical.

If you read your prediction and think that that's something that WILL happen, then it is against the God. God gave us a free will, a freedom to choose which way will we go. If you stick to your prediction, and leave your prediction to lead you through your life, than you're denying God's gift and it's certainly against Him.

If you're reading your prediction like a list of the choices that you'll have in a future ( and any true astrologist will tell you that NOTHING is definitive) than there is nothing against God in that. Than astrology is not a belief, but just a guideline that can help you to prepare for the choices that will follow.

Deuteronomy (18:10,11)
"There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his duaghter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, ora witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer."

Astrology, channeling, ouijaboards, predicting the future, and much else is forbidden. The author of Deuteronomy does not argue that such practices fail to deliver what they promise. But they are "abominations" -- perhaps suitible for other nations, but not for the followers of God.

No one really knows because the horoscope reveals the past and the future of our lives. So it's probably not against god.

Yes the bible has a pretty Vague view on Astrology which is said somewhere in Deuteronomy. Astrology is known by many as a form of Divination. but to say they are down right evil well it more or less depends on who you ask, which you have already found out by yourself. there are many ways of seeing both Astrology and the Passage that talks of it. its best you come up with your own conclusion on it.
