For some of the neo-cons, there can never be enough of what they call "tax relief" for the rich. I think some of them would like to see a zero tax rate on capital gains and dividends with all money to run the government coming from payroll taxes on working people and borrowing from from the Chinese and Japanese - What better way to bankrupt the government and destroy social programs they don't like?
I'm an old fashion conservative. I don't believe in voo doo economics. and I feel that deficit spending except in an emergency is immoral. - Particularly when the plan is to pass the bill on to the next generation. I don't care if deficit stimulates the economy - Crack Cocaine also has a stimulative effect - but that doesn't mean it is a good thing.
In addition, I think some of the neo-cons- who are on the religious right wing think that the Second Coming and the end of the world are not far away so there is no reason to worry about passing an ever larger national debt on to the next generation.

First, it's been shown [look up "laffer curve"] that higher rates for rich people don't result in increased tax revenues, they result in LESS tax revenue. Why is that? you may naively ask. Because they will look for tax shelters, so to hide their wealth from the greedy grasp of government.
You do know that AFTER the Bush tax cuts, their tax rate is still over 30%, right? And that everybody's rate was cut, also?
And you can figure out that 1% of $10 is less than 1% of $100, and that it ISN'T "unfair" that people who earn more money and pay more in taxes tend to be able to keep more money when tax rates are lowered? Is this really that hard a concept?
It has also been proven that high tax rates on the rich cause the economy to suffer. This is because it is the rich people who do things like invest in businesses. You know, the entities that employ "working people"? Who pay them wages, give them benefits? Did you believe that working people created the jobs?

The NeoCon RedsStaters despise the middle class.
To a RedsStater nothing is worse than someone that is financially sound and employed. They work every day of their life to bring back slavery.
Slavery is the RedsStater Nirvana the poor get poorer and the rich get richer. Many Reds have taken the oath of poverty. Vowing to never be a burden on the Super Rich Masters of America.

Are more welfare programs the Liberal solution for everything? Is life that simplistic?
Doctor:"Sir, you have an incurable disease with only six months to live."
Liberal: "Doctor, dont worry. Liberal wealth redistribution will heal me"

For the simple fact that the economy is doing well and unemployment is very low makes your question baseless and without merit. The only ones that think otherwise are to lazy to look for a job and are in fear that the government cheese might soon come to an end.

Ha ha ha...the funny thing is that the poor ones that are hurt by voting for Republicans (that think the solution to everything are tax cuts), don't realize that those cuts are for the RICH and CORPORATIONS. In addition, the REPS make it easier for companies to outsource jobs...maybe they should blame the people they elected for loss of jobs, and stop using immigrants as a scapegoat!!

War, Medicare crisis, the Debt, Iran, North Korea, the ballooning deficit, Trade imbalances, Immigration woes, the Republican scandal o' the week....
Doesn't "tax cuts" seem like a rather small thing next to all that?
These "Spend and Borrow" Republicans just don't get it.

Tax cuts for the rich, with the huge deficit we have (especially since the war) makes no sense. But that shouldn't be a surprise.
Apparently, it is that simplistic to that party.

First, it's tax cuts for everyone, and second, no, they're not the solution for everything - just sluggish growth and job creation. And they've proven themselves in both respects, while INCREASING revenues.
If you want to hate Bush, fine, but don't attack the one policy that's working like a charm!
And what is this "time has proven it's no solution" - - -????? WTF are you TALKING about?
This is what I mean - you want to apply different values to the facts and come up with a different conclusion, fine, but you're not entitled to your own facts. The tax cuts worked. We have more jobs, people at all levels of society are better off, and tax revenue is UP. And it keeps GOING up - all the naysayers who say "well it's not up because of the tax cuts" have nothing else to which to attibute it to - the Fed has been HIKING rates! And they've been saying since '04 that "oh, it's temporary, it'll all turn around" and it's been THREE YEARS since they started saying that and revenue just keeps going up!
