in th province of mexico they have called me señora since i was 23,, its sooooooooooooooooooooo anoying, i guess it is the same feelin for you with mam, id rather just not be called anything ,or seño, which is short of señora and señorita,but in hereit is for cultural reasons folks here get married pretty young

I guess it's better than "How 'bout it, lady?" Or "Hey lady!" Or "Yo, bee-yatch!" Of course, I never noticed anyone calling me "ma'am" until I was in my thirties. Yeah, they tend to do that when a woman is older than the one addressing her. I'd prefer "Ma'am" to lots of other stuff they could call me!

I think its better than some 1 calling me lady or girl... I dont mind at all...
