I'm about ready to pop and I still havent experience the "nesting" stage. I'm sure I'll have this baby any day now, but my step mom insists I'll know when I start to nest. Problem is, I don't feel like nesting at all... just laying around and being lazy. Does this mean I'm not as close to delivery as I think I am?

Hey thats perfectly OK. I wasn't into nesting at all. Don't think things always happen as stated in books.
But its a good idea to be prepared with everything. In fact my baby was 3 weeks early and my newborn baby clothes were in the washer when I went into labor. So the smart thing to do is be prepared but its ok if you don't feel that nesting feeling....I still don't know what that feeling is.

After I had the baby I didn't even have the instant love feeling for the baby like my friends would quote....Love at first sight ! To me he was cute and beautiful and I felt even the worry when he would cry but like how my friends would say that they felt a gush of love flowing the minute they saw them...i didn't feel any :(
I was just relieved that he was a normal baby.

So well in short what I am trying to tell you that its perfectly normal whatever you feel. Be comfortable with what you feel.

When I had my daughter I am not sure that I sensed I was nesting. I started to stay home when I got pregnant with her and I believe that because I had the time and was excited I, was constantly preparing the home. I might have gone through nesting but not have noticed. However, when I was pregnant with my son, I was up at 11:30pm the night before delivery with this insatiable need to clean, organize and take a shower. At 4:00am I was awakened with labor pains and then it was off to the hospital.
I guess the point is nesting may come on strong or depending on what you have going on it may be mild. Being close to your delivery really has much more to do with the biological progression than what we should feel. Each person has their own experience so I would not worry if I were you.

how far along are you. i wouldnt worry too much, to be quite honest i was in the hospital on bed rest i was allowed up for 20 minutes a day and the day before i had my son i couldnt get my hospital room clean enough, and before that i never would have even thought of cleaning it, i am not sure if that is considered nesting or not, but i dont think it happens to everyone either, if you want to be lazy and lay around i say go for it and enjoy it while you can! LOL
congrats hun

I did experience nesting, however, it sounds like you are just tired and are ready to have the baby. No worries, and I hope and pray all goes well for you! Congratulations, Mommy!

I didn't feel nesting either. Then again I had to be induced, so who knows how it would have happened if I had went into labor on my own.

I am always like that, I love tidying and cleaning and sorting, so I may have had it but not noticed the difference!
