Water For Fish Bowl

Tap water treated with dechlorinator.

Aging water to get rid of chlorine is a waste of time since dechlorinators work instantly, and unreliable since so many water companies use chloromine in the water now, which does not dissapate like chlorine does. Distilled water does not contain necessary minerals and nutrients to keep the water stable and the fish healthy.

You can't keep any kind of fish in a bowl. The ammonia levels will rise up and eventually kill the poor thing. If you can get a small aquarium with a filter and heater (they're not expensive and will be better for your fish) then I suggest a single betta. Don't try to get more then one because they are territorial and will fight to death. A goldfish needs a lot of space because they produce a lot of waste and get very big. If you're not able to take care of an animal properly why buy it and mistreat it until it gets sick and eventually dies? If you can't handle taking care of it then buy a plastic fish or a plant. Best of luck :)

For fresh water fish its usually best to go with dechlorinated tap water. Distilled water is pretty close to pure h2o (in theory) and thats not exactly what you want. You want the minerals that are found naturally in water.

Just dechlorinated tap water is usually the best way to go. NEVER use straight distilled water, it's not good for the fish at all.

Tap water with a water conditioner such as Stress Coat, or one of the countless other brands.

If you do go with bottled, never distilled. Spring water is best.

water is water! or do you mean with or without chlorine? no chlorine... let the water sit for a day so the chlorine can evaporate.
