There's this joke / saying that the reason the Indian Rain Dance always worked is becuase they wouldn't stop until it rained.
That applies to wishes. It you wait long enough and really look back, you'll see that a lot of what you wished for you've gotten.

Wishes...ones that are within reason are a lot like the definition of luck.
And that is preparation meeting opportunity.
Wishes and dreams are closely related. Very often, we're our own Fairy Godmothers. We have the power to grant our own wishes....not with a magic wand, but with our ambition and how badly we want this wish to come true.
If you wish to win a marathon, we must not only practice and condition your body, you have to want it more than anything else..in some cases, anyone else.
Desire makes so much of life happen.

There is an expression. "If wishes were horses, beggars would ride." As life doesn't seem to be working out too well for them, I'd have to say no, wishes don't exist... Unless of course you are a 12 yr-old with leukemia and your wish is to go to Disney land...

Wishes only come true if you make them happen. Set the goal to accomplish what you dream, and you will see the results happening. There is no way to just will yourself what you want. You have to strive for it.
