I've found that I need to replace my cpu fan, and need to know what kind to get.
Here's my motherboard specs
I'd like a link from a store like CompUSA please.

Thanks!

any fan that supports socket 478 will work

personally i like newegg there better for returns

as far as what brand, thermaltake rocks, Zalman is about as good but tend to be louder. comes down to personal preference.

unfortunately it looks like alot of the 478 coolers are out of stock.

you don't need any fancy fan, those cores are cooler than the prescott, anything that says socket 478 supported on the label should work. just take it in to Compusa or order somthing from newegg. you don't need to spend over $20 for a good enough cooler.

Corey,

Your best bet is to remove the fan..while socket 478 can and will accept a general and non specific PSU, depending on what external devices or other internal drives you use or maybe came with the system can require small changes and a more specific PSU.

If you unplug and remove the PSU, the computer sales person and yourself are able to view the rating on it. Sometimes your system can actually take a higher rated PSU than what is currently in there and then sometimes if you do not get and EXACT match, you can blow your capcitors and possible fry the machine.

A fan that supports a socket like 478 should be okay but you should just ask a specialist incase.

I like Zalman fans myself, large so they are quieter, copper so it transfers heat faster and the things just seem to work really well.
