No, but someone could slip and fall and really hurt themselves, so if you see a wet spot do the right thing and mop it up.

Is your job to mop the floors? Is it hospital policy? Have you placed patients or employees are risk? A solid apology and promise to be more careful should do the trick if you are a good employee and asset to the organization otherwise.
Talk to Human Resources. There has to be a better explanation. I hope we are not talking about pee, otherwise they'll be questioning your judgment.

not straight away - you have a verbal warning then a written warning. if you continue leaving wet spots, then im afraid you will be fired.

Depends on the state you live in.....If you live in a right to fire state they can fire you for any reason but, you will get unemployment. But for the most part, I would say yes they can fire you. Go file unemployment and stick it to them that way.

Well I think it would depend on "what" the wet spot is. Juice or soda they may let you slid. But if its like body fluid you may be tossed on you can.
