Why the divide? Violence on ALL levels should be condemned, from the suicide bomber to illegal war. The ever increasing divide between Muslims and the West, to me, is ridiculous. And where does it come from? Muslims like me who hate it when others cannot condemn warmongering violence, and Westerners who hate it when muslims cannot condemn terrorism. This is what causes the rift. Should all the people who want peace, of every religion and every race not join together and condemn ALL violence? Maybe this simple act, in itself, will end the divide and prevent all the terrorists and warmongers from manipulating the way we think, taking violence out of the equation altogether. WHO agrees? Please tell me your religion, stance, and show that maybe we CAN unite. Peace

The cynics out there, we are the people, who should ultimately have the power. Unfortunately we are letting the terrorists and governments affect our mindsets, telling us that war and violence is the answer. WE can change this, by controlling the situation.

PROBLEM: What if we get a huge chunk of the world population to condemn violence and take whatever other actions against it that we can (like economic sanctions) and violence still continues? If there is one thing I have learned in life, it's that there are certain people who simply will not respond to reason. People who hate will continue to hate and there's nothing anyone can do to change their minds. Even if it would be possible to take all their guns, bombs, and weapons away the haters would still kill each other with sticks, stones, and even bare hands. While I believe that war should be an absolute last resort, I also believe that in some cases there is no other alternative.

"To be prepared for war is the most effective means of preserving peace."

When the Democrat party was still Democrat - JFK said in his Inaugural Address : " Let every nation know , whether it wishes us well or ill , that we shall pay any price , bear any burden , meet any hardship , support any friend , OPPOSE ANY FOE , IN ORDER TO ASSURE THE SURVIVAL & SUCCESS OF LIBERTY .This we pledge and more ".
Terrorists strive to take away that liberty . So do the "new" socialist /pro-communist Democrats . Warmongers love war . The United States is neither terrorist nor war monger - but we have both in the Democrat party these days .. terrorizing & ridiculing our American values - while they & the liberal biased media do everything in their power to de-value anything resembling our values . Barbara Walters stooped to a new low , when she schmoozed tyrannical dictator Hugo Chavez on national TV , while repeating every vile & untrue slanderous , dirty remark ever uttered about our own United States President . Another trick of the bias media is to make every attempt to show dictators in "human" light . Asking Irans' Aminnejad if he cries ? Who cares ? Do they ever ask President Bush if he cries ? If he sheds a tear over death , he's ridiculed . Warmongers are in our media & the Democrat party leaders - who delight in war on the War on Terror .

Everyone should be up for peace but reality is different.

War was a reaction to terrorist attacks. The Muslim reaction to the Iraq was was what? A few attacks on the Western troops but outright war by shia on Sunni and vice versa.

What is happening in Iraq is sadly little to do with the West now but is harking back to the unresolved 'fitna'

In order for Muslims to find peace with the world they first have to find a solution to the schism in Islam!!!

Most of the people in the world already prefer peace... always have, always will.

But then you have the people who don't have the same values as others. People who believe using force and violence is the only means to get what they want or to keep what they have.

And all the people in the world can be for peace and it makes no difference to them.

So what do you do?
Talk about peace while others are being murdered? tortured? Let others die, in order to maintain your principoles?

Or do you stand up, accept the fact for some people in the world the only answer is to meet violence with violence..

Dream of peace but deal with the reality.

PS. warmonger makes me think of all those who accuse Bush of being one, yet they have been wrong in their claims he waould attack Syria? Iran? N. Korea or any other country the claimed....

Again, I try to go with the reality and not get caught uip in ungrounded facts

I agree but it's never going to happen. War arises when strong powers have something to gain by going to war in the first place. There have been wars since the beginning of time. I'm not saying that people shouldn't believe in and fight for peace, I'm just pessimistic about it ever actually making a difference.

this has been going on for a long time , the east west divide ... I am afraid its all about power and money and while we have mad men running our countries i am afraid it will continue ...

I am agnostic ...i believe that we shouldn't have invaded Iraq and i don't believe that we should be in Afghanistan .. why weren't we there when the afghan people really needed us ?

These countries were invaded for the wrong reasons ...
