Okay it has been three seasons since the trade that brought Eli to the Giants. In the end it looks like they traded Phillip Rivers, Shawn Merriman, Nate Kaeding, and Roman Oben for Eli. Does anybody think this was a good deal for the Giants? Honestly, my feeling are and have been if they traded their #1 which was Phillip Rivers the #7 pick and their third round pick which turned out to be Nate Kaeding the deal would have been okay, but trading their #1 for the next year was downright stupid.

Hey Justice, where did I bash Eli? I think Eli is going to get better if he works at it, but the truth is the Giants paid too much for him at this point.

This is NOT a bash on Eli, but I do feel it was a very bad move. Unfortunately it was to the Giants who has done nothing to develop his talents. They stuck him into a starting spot way to fast, and now he is paying for that decision. Does he have talent.. yes.. but will we ever see it? I don't think so unless he is traded to some other team that is willing to take the time necessary in developing his talent. And one who has players around him that will help him not just toss him to the dogs. He's in a difficult spot...

EVERYBODY STOP WITH THE PHILLIP RIVERS BULLCRAP! Phillip Rivers has the greaest back in the game behind him, and All-Pro offensive line, and decent receivers. Who has Eli got? Jeremy "i'm gonna drop another one" shockey? Plaxico "the game's about me" Burress? Give him a break, he definately can't do a good job with the media weighing down on him. Almost every football fan with a giants jersey thinks they can play quarterback better than Eli. Go put him on the Panthers, and watch him throw 35 td's to Steve Smith. For real people, if you think Phillip Rivers is a better quarterback, let them trade places.

The trade did not work out for them, the Chargers got a much better deal. Eli has not proven himself with the price tage, especially when you look at it the way you explained it. Eli is stil young and coudl develop in a agreat quarterback but thus far he has been incosistent and overpriced. Also, look at the fact that Rivers has really only started for one season and brough his team into the playoffs and they could have gone very far if it weren;t for a crushing loss. As of now Eli was not worth the trade at all.

I am a huge giants fan and i have to admit, i hated the trade when we got him. I went to the training camp and seeing him throw behind kurt warner was a great expeirence and from then on i knew he had what it took to play well and i was right. P.S. I wanted him gone after the first two games of the year

I blame the front office more than I blame Eli. Jerry Reese should kill himself. We now have so many problems it looks like we are going to be the next Detroit Lions. I think that it was a good trade. Rivers, would be having the same problems if he hadn't been traded.

Considering (1) all he's done for the Giants in the last two years (not much) and (2) the development of Rivers and (3) all the other prolific draft picks they squandered...

IT WAS A BAD MOVE...

No it wasn't. Rivers alone is going to have a better career then Eli then you add the other picks.

Haha, your QB is worth sh!t. The Giants will never sniff the Super Bowl if Eli is under center. You have a better chance of making the big game if Jared Lorenzen is your starting QB.

I havent seen the Chargers make it far into the playoffs, let alone come even close to the Super Bowl, have you??
STOP with the Eli bashing already.
His brother sucked the 1st three seasons too, and he just won a Super Bowl (the one that everyone THOUGHT the Chargers were going to be in, but choked).

I have faith in Eli. It was not a bad trade.
