i think you can change it after a month or so. And it does bleed when you first get it pierced, mine did and a few of my friends did. I think it hurt pretty bad, but it doesn't last long just when they are putting the needle in. I have a low tolerance for pain too and I think it hurt!! GOOD LUCK!!

okay i just got this done yesterday and to be completely honest the worst part of it was waiting to get the piercing, i was incredibly nervous. There is some bleeding as it's in the lip region and i personally don't know how to minimize sweeling other than ice. But even now a day after, i've snagged it maybe twice and it doesn't really hurt.
It kinda depends on you about changing your jewelry the place i got it at said that after a few weeks they would be able to find a better fitting ring for me but that it shouldnt be a constant changing thing but they also look at how much you have healed in those three or four weeks. if the place is well lit everything is nice and sterile the process should take like 5 minutes at most and i'd say the pain reaches it height while they're changing the needle out for the jewelry and that's not all that bad i dont have a high pain threshold either ^^

1.Usually you can change your jewelry in about a month but , it just depends on how fast it heals up, if it is still hurting don't change it. 2. Some people bleed and some people don't it just depends on the person. 3. I think it hurts more after the piercing is done then it does during the piercing because you are not used to it being there. I can't tell you if it hurts or not because everyone has there own opinion of pain.

you can change the jewlery in a month ( or by the time the swelling & pain has COMPLETELY dissappeared & the lip has healed.)
there is a lot of blood supply to the lip region ( unlike the ear lobes, where there is very little or no bleeding at all) and bleeding is certain, so steer clear of people who tell u it won't bleed.
and it hurts like hell. so if ur still thinking 'bout it, dont go for it. some people have this misconception that peircings in such sensitive areas show how brave they are or express "individuality". dont be one of those. everybody gets it done so its not unique.
but if u'r set on getting one, take care and feel free to scream as loud as u can.

It will be a quick pain, and it may be a bit sore or uncomfortable for the first week or so, I mean, come on, they're putting a needle through your skin, of course it's going to hurt! How much depends on your pain tolerance. My brother just got his done on Tuesday, right now he said it's a little sore because it's dry, and he can't put any chapstick on it. Other than that, he said it's not bad, and his lip didn't swell that much.
As for changing the jewelry, your piercer should give you all the aftercare advice you need. They would be the best one to talk to. Any questions, don't be afraid to ask them!! Even if you think it's a stupid question.
Good luck!

If you are getting your piercing done somewhere that knows what they are doing, than you should ask them all of these questions so that you know that you can trust the answer. Also, the pain may be different depeniding on where you get your lip pierced, but I'm not sure. Your questions will vary a lot from person to person.

the pain you feel is a sting, as if a bug had caught your lip. it should not bleed, so dont play with it. it should take about 2-3 weeks before you can start messing with it, the longer you wait without tho the sooner you can change the ring. on the scale from 1-10 the pain is like a 20....only if you like the pain, if not then its not that bad

It swells on the grounds that, howdy!, there is a piece of steel to your lip. Over night time your pal mostly bumps it and sleeps on it so it will get messed with plenty and is swolen within the morning, however she mostly leaves it by myself at day time so the swelling is going down. The swelling must depart in a couple of days, if now not she demands to return to the piercer and notice what is going on. Basically if you happen to wish to get it performed, then get it. There's no execs or cons (except you are watching to get a significant process quickly which I doubt). It's as much as you, if you happen to particularly wish it then opt for it. When you get it performed ensure you blank it two times an afternoon with saline answers (sea salt disolved in boiled water, allowed to chill) and do not contact it except it is surely neccessary. This means it has the first-class risk of medication. Good good fortune. Edit: In reaction to Vi, it does go away a small noticeable gap however it is tiny, and will handiest be spotted if you are status part a foot clear of the man or woman. I recognise a couple of men and women who have had them and feature taken them out, and also you are not able to detect the gap in any respect.

I know someone who got their lip pierced. They said it was extremely painful. Then they broke out with a cold sore and the pain was unbearable.
